Hey there, lovely readers! Just recently, I had the pleasure of reuniting with the Wong Family in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, where I captured their annual family portraits. Let me tell you all about it.
A little backstory first – I've known Stephanie and Brian Wong for quite some time now. We first met when I had the honor of photographing their wedding a whole decade ago, and I was there again when their first little bundle of joy, Tommy, turned one year old. This year marks the third time we've come together to create some photographic magic, and let me just say, it was as spectacular as ever.
The morning found us at the picturesque Shoreline Lake Park in Mountain View, CA. If you haven't been, it's a little slice of heaven nestled in the heart of the Bay Area. The perfect backdrop for a family session filled with love, laughter, and a dash of playfulness!
My style, in a nutshell, combines fine art with a photojournalistic approach, crafting images that are not only beautiful but also tell a heartwarming story. The Wong Family's vibrant dynamic was the canvas I had the privilege of painting, and I couldn't wait to get started.
Before we even began, I chatted with Stephanie and Brian and caught up on our lives. It's important to me that my clients feel comfortable and trust the process. This rapport sets the tone for the entire shoot, and it's something I pride myself on.
And then, it was time to meet the stars of the day, Tommy and JJ. The kiddos are the ones who truly make family sessions come to life. I wanted them to have fun, be themselves, and, most importantly, feel at ease. I chatted with Tommy and discovered his love for Pterodactyl and his aspiration of becoming a paleontologist one day. We even got Brian to do some impressive throw of Tommy into the air, just like his favorite dinosaur! Who said photography can't be an adventure?
But, of course, a bit of direction is always needed to craft those story-telling shots. Whether it was Brian lifting Tommy high in the air, Stephanie sharing secrets with JJ, or the whole family engaging in a game of tickle fight, I was there, capturing every moment. It's the delicate balance between candid and posed shots that truly encapsulates the spirit of a family session.
One of the most remarkable things about photographing the Wong Family is watching how they've grown and evolved over the years. It's a testament to the power of photography to freeze time and document a family's journey. Their love for one another has only grown stronger, and it's truly inspiring.
The results? Well, I'd like to think we created a treasure trove of memories that the Wongs will cherish for years to come. Fun, meaningful, and full of life, these images are a testament to a family's love and connection. I couldn't have asked for a better day.
Till next time, folks! Keep smiling, laughing, and making beautiful memories. 😊
